The
Blue Ridge Blues Society
The Blue Ridge
Blues Society is a grass roots educational 501(C)(3) non-profit,
tax exempt, all volunteer organization governed by a Board of Directors
and dedicated to the preservation, promotion and presentation of
The Blues as a true American art form. The BRBS is an affiliated
member of The Blues Foundation, the umbrella organization for a
worldwide network of Blues Societies. The BRBS is involved in presenting
the American Blues Tradition through concerts, forums, workshops
and educational programs and in preserving local Virginia Blues
Tradition through documentation of written, audio and visual media
and our own Blues archives. The general funding is provided through
membership dues, souvenir sales, corporate donations, grants and
advertising.
Our monthly Membership meetings
are held at 7:00 pm on the second Wednesday of every month at a
local restaurant! Check the BRBS web site for details about the
meeting location! And of course right after the meeting, many times there
is the always popular Blues Jam!!!! Be sure to check it out!
Our web site ( www.blueridgeblues.org
) is updated continuously to reflect current activities of the
society and to relay Blues and Cultural Arts related news and
events.
